The focus of this research is the role of K.H.R As’ad Syamsul Arifin who is a local figure in Situbondo in Indonesia's national history. K.H.R As’ad Syamsul Arifin was awarded the title of National Hero because of his role in confirming Pancasila as Single Guided. But in reality, not many students in class XII IPS 1 of SMAN 1 Situbondo know the role of K.H.R As’ad Syamsul Arifin. This is known from the questionnaires distributed to students of class XII IPS 1 of SMAN 1 Situbondo at the preliminary research held on. One of the innovative learning media that can be used is the flipbook maker booklet. Booklet as learning media developed for local history’s learning in class XII IPS 1 at SMAN 1 Situbondo on the recommendation of teacher of historical subjects and principal based on Basic Competence 3.5.

The purpose of this research is to produce learning media for students in the form of booklets and to find out the feasibility of learning media booklet "Role of K.H.R As’ad Syamsul Arifin in Confirming the Pancasila as Single Guided" in supporting political history material in the New Order era, especially local history. The research model used Sugiyono research and development with nine stages without conducting the mass production stage. The nine stages are potential and problems, data collection, product design and material, design validation and material, design and material revisions, product trials, product revisions, product usage trials, and product revisions.

The booklet as learning media was developed with a preliminary structure, contents, and conclusions. The introduction contains instructions for use, table of contents, basic competencies, indicators, concept maps, and learning objectives. The contents section is packaged in several sub-material and a video on the inauguration of the single principle of Pancasila. The concluding section contains conclusions, evaluations, bibliography, and authors. The final product of the booklet is an application so that the display and size of the booklet can adjust the smartphone owned by the students.

 

In the material validation process, the results was 95% and media validation was 88.8%. Based on this acquisition, the booklet media gets valid criteria but still needs to revised based on comments and suggestions from the validators. Then the small product trial scores results with a percentage of 96% and in the large group trials gets score of 93% is obtained. Based on these data, the booklet media gets effective criteria but revisions still need to be made based on comments and suggestions from students’ rating. The conclusion is that learning media booklets are very feasible and effective if used in learning history, especially local history. Researcher suggest that further researchers can innovate and enhance creativity in packaging material into an interesting historical learning media.
