Abstrak


This study aims to improve student activeness in the subject of History in the students of class X MIPA-5 in SMA Negeri 9 Malang academic year 2017/2018 through the application of the method of learning Card Sort. This study is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. Each cycle consists of four stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research is the students of class X MIPA-5 in SMA Negeri 9 Malang academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 35 students. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the level of student activity on the subjects of History in class X MIPA-5 in SMA Negeri 9 Malang before the action by using the method of Student Card Sort learning active as many as 24 students or 62.85% of 35 students. After the action using Card Sort method in the first cycle increased by 26 students or 68.57% of 35 students and in cycle II increased to 29 students or 82.85% of 35 students.Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the method of learning of Card Sort can improve students' activity on the subjects of History class X MIPA-5 in SMA Negeri 9 Malang academic year 2017/2018.
