               The use of instructional media is very important in the learning of history. The use of learning media is very effective if it is innovatively and creatively presented by utilizing the latest technologies as a medium so that the learning becomes more interesting for students. It will minimalize the use of lecture method just like what is used in XI IPS 2 class of SMAN 6 Madiun. It is obvious when the lecture is on going, it only use the blackboard so that it is less interesting for students. Based on the statements of some students, they need more interactive media such as video. Encountering the problem in XI IPS 2 class of SMAN 6 Madiun, this research developed a stopmotion video as a historical learning media. The purpose of this research and development is to produce Sumpah Pemuda stopmotion video as a history learning media at XI IPS 2 class SMAN 6 Madiun.

               This research uses the research and procedural model development plan. The steps on this research and development includes: (1) potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product designs; (4) design validations; (5) product revisions; (6) product trials; (7) product revisions; (8) trial usage; and (9) product revisions.

            Based on the research and development model, the following research results are obtained. First, the validation results from media experts who stated 94.2% while the results of validation by subject experts reached 85%. The results of both validations state that this historical stopmotion video has been validated or appropriate as a historical learning media on sumpah pemuda subject for XI grade high school. Second, a small group trial in XI IPS 2 class of SMAN 6 Madiun which was randomly conducted to 10 students get 86% result. Large group trials were conducted in the same classroom with larger respondents ie 23 students earning 86.7%. These test results also state that this historical stopmotion video has been included in a valid category. However, it is inevitable that there are deficiencies in this product, such as material limitations and others. Further researches are expected to complement the deficiencies that have been developed by previous researchers.
