Kinematika merupakan materi dasar untuk mempelajari dinamika.Siswa sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep kinematika, oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu desain pembelajaran yang mampu mengatasi kesulitan siswa tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkandesain pembelajaran berpendekatan saintifik pada materikinematika. Desain pembelajaran yang dimaksud mencakup skenario pembelajaran, bahan ajar dan penilaian pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah Dick & Carey. Kelayakan produk diketahui dari hasil validasiyang dilakukan oleh dosen dan guru dengan menggunakan skala Guttman dan juga komentar dan saran dari validator.

Kinematics is the subject matter of mechanics as well as the basic for learning dynamics. Students often have difficulty in understanding the concept of kinematics such as position, displacement, distance, speed, velocity, and acceleration. Therefore this study aims to generatea teaching design with scientific approach and multirepresentation-based on the material of kinematics. The teaching design purposed, includes learningscenarios, learning materials and assessment of learning.

The methods used in this study is Dick & Carey. The feasibility of the product can be known from the results of the validation carried out by professors and teachers. The form of validation sheets used in this study is Guttman. The validatedaspects,include, (1) the truth of concept, (2) suitability of indicators on the scenario with the characteristics of Science learning in junior high school, (3) suitability of learning scenarios with scientific approach, (4) the clarity of the information in the materials, (5) the effectiveness of the sentence and the completeness of the component in the materials, (6) achievedness of indicatorsmeasurement, and (7) the completeness of the assessment instrument components. The type of data that is retrieved is the qualitative data in the form of comments and suggestions from validator.

The results of this study indicate that the teaching design generated is declared fit for use in the learning process on the kinematics material in junior high school. Based on these results, it is suggested to conduct further research on for instance being applied in teaching so that it can be  know empirically the effectiveness of the teaching design.
