Business Center is one of the businesses areas that is in the school environment where the role is as a training facility of entrepreneurship for the students. Through the implementation of Business Center in the school, it is expected that the students can understand well towards the activities conducted by Business Center. Business Center provides a tangible benefits to each student and the school for their roles. Business Center can train and develop the entrepreneurial spirit among students.

This research aimed at: 1) Observing the management of Business Center in SMKN 1 Probolinggo, 2) Finding out the benefits obtained by the students of SMKN 1 Probolinggo from Business Center practical work, 3) Determining the role of Business Center in fostering students’ entrepreneurial spirit in marketing major of SMKN 1 Probolinggo.

This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive qualitative research. Participants of the study were the Vice Principal of Infrastructures division at SMKN 1 Probolinggo, the advisors of Business Center, teacher of craft and entrepreneurship subject, employees of Business Center, and students’ of marketing SMKN 1 Probolinggo. The data were collected through observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. Questionnaires were distributed to students of marketing as much as 100 questionnaires.

The research findings showed that: 1) The management of Business Center at SMKN 1 Probolinggo had run well. There were some programs to optimize the management. 2) Many benefits obtained by the students in doing practical activities in Business Center such as supporting learning activities in the school. Students were trained to have a responsibility, socialize and learn independently. In addition, students were taught to have skills and experience of entrepreneurship. 3) Role of Business Center at SMKN 1 Probolinggo in fostering students’ entrepreneurial spirit had played role effectively. Business Center became a facility for students to learn entrepreneurship that can be seen from students’ activity in participating the practical activities in Business Center. The results of the questionnaire showed that 61.27% the students gave agree responses towards Business Center in fostering students’ entrepreneurial spirit.

 

According to the explanations and the results of the study, the researcher gives some suggestions as follows: 1) For employees of Business Center, it should involve more than two students to practice in daily Business Center. 2) For some parties of school, it should add the existing facilities in Business Center. 3) For futher researchers, especially for those who want to conduct the same study, it should use a Likert scale questionnaire instrument with five answer options.
