Learning Group Investigation is one model of learning complex in its implementation because it combines some base of thinking, which is based on the constructivist view, democratic teaching, and cooperative learning groups. As a result, the learning process will demand for more active role of students rather than the teacher. Problem-based learning is learning which the teacher will give problems to students who must find the solution, which in the solving process should base on the theory that has been studied previously.

This study was conducted to determine how the application about the combination Learning Model Group Investigation (GI) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) to the learning outcomes of XI PM 3 grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Malang. This study was a qualitative design of classroom action research (PTK), which carried out two cycles. Each cycle consisted of 2 meetings and through four phases which were planning, implementation, observation and reflection. As for the subject of this study were students in grade XI PM 3 consisted about 32 students, 29 female and 3 male students.

The result showed that the application of the combination between Learning Model Group Investigation (GI) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) have increased from the first cycle of 75% to 91.87% in the second cycle. While the average of learning result increased in the first cycle of 66.78 to 85in the second cycle. From the analysis it can be seen that the application of combination of learning model of Group Investigation (GI) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) have increased from cycle I and II. Thus the model is suitable to be applied in class XI PM in 3 SMK Negeri 1 Malang.

Based on the result it is also suggested to the teachers that they should make learning process is interesting and make students have more passion for learning and the learning itself must center to the students (Student Centered). This research should be developed by other researchers using the population and broader sample and always try to the maximum for results that much better than this.
