Berdasarkan hasil observasi diketahui nilai ujian siswa pada mata pelajaran geografi dikategorikan sangat rendah. Hal tersebut membuktikan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang secara langsung berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif  tipe Think Talk Write terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran geografi. Think Talk Write adalah model pembelajaran yang dapat membangun pengetahuan secara mandiri melalui tahap berpikir, berbicara, dan menulis.

Penelitian ini tergolong dalam penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain  pretest and posttest control group design. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Kefamenanu. Teknik pengambilan subjek penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling,yaitu subjek penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan dua kelas yang memiliki nilai rata-rata relatif setara. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes essay untuk menguji kemampuan berpikir kritis. Materi penelitian adalah sebaran flora dan fauna di Indonesia dan dunia. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah Uji-t.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif  tipe Think Talk Write terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran geografi. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai posttest siswa yang diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write lebih unggul dibandingkan nilai siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional.

Saran yang dapat diberikan bagi guru yaitu model pembelajaran ini dapat dijadikan sebagai model alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran geografi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan juga sebagai acuan bagi peneliti selanjutnya dalam menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write pada jenjang pendidikan, lokasi, dan materi yang lain.

Based on the result of observation known the value of the test the students on the subject of geography is categorized as very low. It proves the lack the ability to think critically students that directly affect the result of learning. The aim of the research to know the effech of cooperative learning model the type of Think Talk Write to the ability to think critically students in learning geography. Think Talk Write is learning model that can build knowledge independently through the stage of thinking, speaking and writing.

This research is classified in research experiment facades with the design of the pretest and posttest control group design. The research done on the students of class XI SMAN 1 Kefamenanu. Research subject loading technique using purposive sampling, which is the subject of the research is determined based on two classes that have the value of the average relatively equal. The research instrument in the form of essay test to test the ability to think critically. Research material is the spread of flora and fauna in Indonesia and the world. Statistical Analyzed used is the T-test.

The results of the study showed that there is a cooperative learning model effech the type of Think Talk Write to the ability to think critically students in learning geography. This is shown by the value of posttest students that applied the model of cooperative learning the type of Think Talk Write superior compared to the value of the students who use conventional learning.

The suggestions can be given to the teachers that this learning model can be used as an alternative model to improve the ability to think critically in the teaching of geography. The results of this research can be used as a reference for the next researcher in testing the effech of cooperative learning model the type of Think Talk Write on the levels of education, location and other material.
