Peningkatan Kemampuan Keterampilan Motorik Siswa pada Kompetensi Merakit Kusen Kayu Melalui Siklus Pembelajaran Latihan Sambungan Kayu di SMK Negeri 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung, SMK Negeri 1 Kediri, dan SMK Negeri 1 Blitar. (Tesis)

Abstrak


Berdasarkan data hasil belajar siswa kelas II semester gasal tahun pelajar-an 2006/2007 kompetensi merakit kusen kayu di SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulung-agung, SMK N 1 Kediri, dan SMK N 1 Blitar masih rendah. Masalah pembela-jaran tersebut dapat diamati melalui skor masing-masing siswa. Skor rerata yang didapat siswa di SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung sebesar 6.90, terdiri dari 18 siswa (56.25 %) dengan rerata 7.28 ≥ 7.00, dan 14 siswa (43.75 %) dengan rerata 6.40 ≤ 7,00. Sedangkan skor rerata siswa di SMK N 1 Kediri sebesar 6.76, terdiri dari 16 siswa (51.61 %) dengan rerata 7.25 ≥ 7.00 dan 15 siswa (48.39 %) dengan rerata 6,24 ≤ 7,00. Adapun skor rerata siswa di SMK N 1 Blitar sebesar 6.99 terdiri dari 19 siswa (54.29 %) dengan rerata 7.22 ≥ 7.00, dan 16 siswa (45.61 %) memiliki rerata 6.73 ≤ 7,00. Skor rerata yang diperoleh siswa tersebut menunjuk-kan bahwa secara umum keterampilan yang dimiliki siswa masih dibawah skor standar kelulusan 7.00. Dilain pihak guru menyadari adanya kelemahan pada diri siswa ketika menyeleseikan pekerjaan merakit kusen kayu yaitu keterampilan sis-wa dalam membuat sambungan. Berdasarkan refleksi dan hasil diskusi antara guru dengan peneliti, penyebab rendahnya kemampuan keterampilan motorik siswa kompetensi merakit kusen kayu adalah masih rendahnya kemampuan keterampil-an siswa dalam membuat sambungan kayu. Oleh karena itu dirasa perlu diadakan tindakan pembelajaran latihan membuat sambungan kayu secara maksimal agar keterampilan motorik siswa kompetensi merakit kusen kayu dapat meningkat. Se-cara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan motorik siswa kelas II pada tiga sekolah tersebut melalui latihan membuat sambungan ka-yu yang dilaksanakan oleh enam orang guru dengan peneliti secara kolaborasi.

Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan penelitian tindak-an kelas. Prosedur tindakan dikemas dalam bentuk siklus 1 pembelajaran latihan membuat sambungan sudut, siklus 2 pembelajaran latihan membuat sambungan silang, siklus 3 pembelajaran latihan membuat sambungan ekor burung, dan siklus 4 pembelajaran merakit kusen kayu. Subyek penelitian ini meliputi: (a) siswa kelas II program keahlian teknik konstruksi kayu SMKN 3 Boyolangu Tulung-agung berjumlah 32 siswa; (b) siswa kelas II program keahlian teknik konstruksi kayu SMK N 1 Kediri berjumlah  31 siswa; dan (c) siswa kelas II program keahli-an teknik konstruksi kayu SMK N 1 Blitar berjumlah 35 siswa. Perencanaan tin-dakan dilaksanakan pada periode 2 September 2007 sampai 20 Oktober 2007, sedangkan pelaksanaan tindakan dilakukan pada periode 7 Januari 2008 sampai 31 Januari 2008.

Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (a) pada akhir siklus 1, didapatkan di SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung reratanya 7.24 terdiri dari 24 siswa (75 %) te-lah kompeten dan delapan siswa (25 %) belum kompeten, sedangkan di SMK N 1 Kediri reratanya 7.25 terdiri dari 20 siswa (64,5 %) telah kompeten dan 11 siswa (35,5 %) belum kompeten, dilain pihak di SMK N 1 Blitar reratanya 7.19 terdiri dari 25 siswa (71,4 %) telah kompeten dan 10 siswa (28,4 %) belum kompeten. Selanjutnya dilaksanakan pembelajaran remidial latihan membuat pen sambungan sudut, sehingga seluruh siswa kompeten membuat sambungan sudut; (b) pada akhir siklus 2, didapatkan di SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung reratanya 7.36 terdiri dari 27 siswa (84,4 %) telah kompeten dan lima siswa (15,6 %) belum kompeten, sedangkan di SMK N 1 Kediri reratanya 7.32 terdiri dari 23 siswa (74,2 %) telah kompeten dan delapan siswa (25,8 %) belum kompeten, dilain pi-hak di SMK N 1 Blitar reratanya 7.35 terdiri dari 27 siswa (77,1 %) telah kompe-ten dan 10 siswa (22,9 %) belum kompeten. Selanjutnya dilaksanakan pembela-jaran remedial latihan membuat coakan sambungan silang, sehingga seluruh siswa kompeten membuat sambungan silang; (c) pada akhir siklus 3, ditemukan di SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung reratanya 7.49 terdiri dari 30 siswa (91,8 %) telah kompeten dan dua siswa (8,2%) belum kompeten, sedangkan di SMK N 1 Kediri reratanya 7.38 terdiri dari 28 siswa (90,3 %) telah kompeten dan tiga siswa (9,7 %) belum kompeten, dilain pihak di SMK N 1 Blitar reratanya 7.41 terdiri dari 32 siswa (91,4 %) telah kompeten dan tiga siswa (8,6 %) belum kompeten. Selanjut-nya dilaksanakan pembelajaran remidial latihan membuat coakan sambungan ekor burung, sehingga seluruh siswa kompeten membuat sambungan ekor burung; dan (d) pada akhir siklus 4, ditemukan di SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung reratanya 7.85, SMK N 1 Kediri reratanya 7.89, dan SMK N 1 Blitar reratanya 7.76 serta se-tiap siswa telah memperoleh nilai ≥ 7.00 (100 %) dan telah kompeten.

Abstract:

Based on the students' achievement data of class II at first semester in 2006/2007 the timber frame assemble competence at SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tu-lungagung, SMK N 1 Kediri, and SMK N 1 Blitar are low. Learning problem can be observed through the student's marks and it's average. Students obtained scores at SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung gained the average of 6.90, consisting of 18 students (56.25%) in seven point twenty eight is more than or equals seven (≥ 7.00) and 14 students (43.75%) in six point forty is less than seven (< 7.00). While students score of SMK N 1 Kediri gained the average of six point seventy six (6.76), consisting of 16 students (51.61%) obtained the average score of seven point twenty five is greater than or equals seven (≥ 7.00) and 15 students (48.39%) had rates of six point twenty four is less than seven (< 7.00). The students' scores in SMK N 1 Blitar had the average of 6.99 consists of 19 students (54.29%) gained the average of seven point twenty two is over than or equals seven (≥ 7.00), and 16 students (45.61%) had rates of six point seventy three is less than seven (< 7.00). The obtained scores showed that students generally have in below score of the passing grade standard of seven (7.00). On the other hand, teachers realized the students' weakness when finishing the wood frame assembling, especially students' skills in making the wood joints. Based on reflection and discussion between teachers and researcher, the competence of students' motor skills was low relating to assemble wood joints. It is necessary to give intensive exercises as maximum as possible to increase their ability. Generally, this research aims to improve students' motoric skills of class II in three schools to make joints by practicing of timber that carried out by six teachers in collaborating with the researcher. 

The research design used is classroom action research. Action procedures are formed in four cycles: (a) cycle 1 learning how to make the joint pen; (b) cycle 2 learning of making the joint cross drill; (c) cycle 3 learning the exercise of birds' tail joint; and (d) cycle 4 learning how to assemble a wood frame. The subjects of research were as followed: (a) the member of second-grade students of wood construction engineering programs in SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung were 32 students; (b) the member of second-grade students of wood construction engineering programs in SMK N 1 Kediri were 31 students; and (c) the member of second-grade students of wood construction engineering in SMK N 1 Blitar were 35 students. Preparation of the research was conducted in the period of September 2 to October 20, 2007, while the implementation of the action was executed in the period of January 7, 2008 to January 31, 2008.

The results showed that: (a) at the end of cycle 1, it was found that SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung obtained the average of seven point twenty four (7.24) there were 24 students (75%) had been competent and eight students (25%) had not been competent, while the SMK N 1 Kediri had the average of seven point twenty five (7.25) there were 20 students (64.5 %) had been competent and 11 students (35.5%) had not been competent. On the other hand, SMK N 1 Blitar had the average of seven point nineteen (7.19) there were 25 students (71.4%) had been competent and 10 students (28.4%) had not been competent. Further more, the remedial teaching how to make a joint pen was conducted, so that all students were competent; (b) at the end of cycle 2, SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung obtained the average of seven point thirty six (7.36) there were 27 students (84.4%) had been competent and five students (15.6 %) had not been competent, while the SMK N 1 Kediri gained the average of seven point thirty two (7.32) there were 23 students (74.2%) had been competent and eight students (25.8%) had not been competent. On the other hand, SMK N 1 Blitar obtained the average of seven point thirty five (7.35) there were 27 students (77.1%) had been competent and 10 students (22.9%) had not been competent. Next, the remedial teaching how to make notch cross joint was conducted, so that all students were competent; (c) at the end of cycle 3, SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung achieved the average of seven point forty nine (7.49) there were 30 students (91.8%) had been competent and two students (8.2 %) had not been competent. While the SMK N 1 Kediri had average of seven point thirty eight (7.38) there were 28 students (90.3%) had been competent and three students (9.7%) had not been competent. On the other hand the SMK N 1 Blitar obtained the average of seven point forty one (7.41) there were 32 students (91.4%) had been competent and three students (8.6%) had not been competent. Further, the remedial teaching of how to make the  notch bird tail joint was conducted, so that all students were competent to make this joint; and (d) at the end of cycle 4, it was found that the SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung achieved the average of seven point eighty five (7.85), SMK N 1 Kediri obtained the average of seven point eighty nine (7.89), and SMK N 1 Blitar gained the average of seven point seventy six (7.76). It showed that each student received grades is over than or equals seven (≥ 7.00) (100%) and it means that all students were competent or were successful in learning. This exercise shows that learning to make the most of wood joint can enhance students' skills competence in assembling wood frame in SMK N 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung, SMK N 1 Kediri, and SMK N 1 Blitar.
