This thesis is an experimental study which carries the effects of an extensive reading programme on students’ reading comprehension and vocabulary retention. The study examines the used of graded readers and accompanied by EPER test, the vocabulary size tests and other related instruments.  For its framework for analysis, the study draws on the parametric independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. The study reveals that the extensive reading programme did not significantly contribute the reading comprehension and vocabulary retention due to the lack of time in the implementation of the treatment. The study aims to provide additional evidence of the extensive reading but with graded readers despite the previous studies.
