Based on the observation in fourth grade students of SDN I Sanan Wonogiri, revealed that student participation in social study learning was very low. It could be seen from the activity in learning process, students were not interested to answer the teachers’ questions, low students activities in group and class presentation. Learning activity was still teacher centered. So, the students seen passive. Based on the documentation of learning result revealed that the students learning result of social study was low because still under KKM. The involving of student in the learning process caused low activity and learning outcome. This problem can be solved by gave chance the students to look for and find social study concept in learning process by application of SAVI approach with help of learning video. The purpose of this research was to describe the application of SAVI approach with help of learning video to improve the student activity and learning outcome of social study learning of the fourth grade students of SDN I Sanan Wonogiri.

This research was classroom action research that consists of two cycles with 3 sessions in each cycle. Each cycle consist of four stages; planning, actuating, observation, and reflection. This research has been conducted in SDN I Sanan Wonogiri. The subject of this research is fourth grade students that consist of 14 students in 2015/2016 academic year. The technique of collecting data used documentation of learning process, observation, test, field note and interview.

Based on the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of SAVI with help of video learning can improve the activity and learning outcome of social study learning of fourth grade students of SDN I Sanan Wonogiri. It can be seen from the percentage of the students activity in cycle I was 64,29% increased 85,71% in cycle II. The percentage of learning outcome in cycle I was 71,43% (10 students) increased to be 85,71% (12 students) in cycle II. Based on the result of this research, It can be concluded that the increasing of activity and learning outcome affected by implementing SAVI approach helped by learning video.

Teacher suggested to design a lesson plan as well before applying SAVI approach helped video learning. The teacher need to prepare an attractive learning video and it will be better if the video was made by themselves. The teacher should analyse the concepts related to the material before taught. Design learning strategies related to the characteristic of the material and stimulate students activities to find their own concept to be studied. Next researcher could conduct research in the different class, subject, and KD so that can measure SAVI  approach helped by video to improve activity and learning outcome.
