Raw Input merupakan kualitas peserta didik yang berupa potensi kecerdasan, status sosial dan ekonomi keluarga, bakat minat belajar, dan kepribadian peserta didik. Apabila kualitas masukan itu rendah atau tidak mendukung terwujudnya prestasi belajar yang tinggi, tentunya tidak dapat diharapkan menjadi lulusan yang bermutu tinggi. Masalah yang timbul adalah dengan kualitas raw input yang ada di SMK saat ini dan dengan kinerja guru yang telah mendapat pelatihan dari pemerintah mampukah keterlaksanaan scientific approach berjalan dengan baik dan kualitas pembelajaran menjadi meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kontribusi yang signifikan kemampuan awal peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach dan kualitas pembelajaran; (2) kontribusi yang signifikan status sosial ekonomi keluarga peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach dan kualitas pembelajaran; (3) kontribusi yang signifikan karakteristik kepribadian peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach dan kualitas pembelajaran; (4) kontribusi yang signifikan kinerja guru dilihat dari persepsi peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach dan kualitas pembelajaran; (5) kontribusi yang signifikan keterlaksanaan scientific approach terhadap kualitas pembelajaran.

 Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitian survey. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis). Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan korelasi dan regresi sehingga dapat diketahui untuk sampai pada variabel dependen terakhir harus lewat jalur langsung atau melalui variabel intervining. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan siswa SMK kelas X Teknik Pemesinan yang telah menggunakan kurikulum 2013 di seluruh Pasuruan yang berjumlah 256 peserta didik dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 154 responden.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan antara kemampuan awal peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach maupun kualitas pembelajaran; (2) terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan antara status sosial ekonomi keluarga peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach maupun kualitas pembelajaran; (3) terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan antara karakteristik kepribadian peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach maupun kualitas pembelajaran; (4) terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan antara kinerja guru dilihat dari persepsi peserta didik terhadap keterlaksanaan scientific approach maupun kualitas pembelajaran; (5) kontribusi yang signifikan keterlaksanaan scientific approach terhadap kualitas pembelajaran.

Raw input is learner quality of intelligence potential, social status and family economy, learning interest aptitude, and learner personality. When the input quality is low or not supporting for the realization of high learning achievement, indeed it can be expected to be high qualified graduate although the other aspects support it such as good learning process and good education tool. Problem is with raw input quality in Vocational High this day and with teacher performance that obtained training from government, can the implementation of scientific approach run well and learning quality will improve. This research aims to: (1) significant contribution of initial ability of learner to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (2) significant contribution of social status of family economy of learner to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (3) significant contribution of personality characteristic of learner to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (4) significant contribution of teacher performance seen from learner perception to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (5) significant contribution for the implementation of scientific approach to the learning quality.

This research was quantitative research with survey research design. This study using path analysis. Analyses were performed using correlation and regression that can be known for up to the last dependent variable should be passed directly or through a intervining variable. The research population was students in Vocational High School at 10th Grade of machinery engineering that used curriculum 2013 in Pasuruan for 256 learners and sample for 154 respondents.

The research result showed that: (1) there was significant contribution between initial ability of learner to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (2) there was significant contribution between sosial status of family economy of learner to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (3) there was significant contribution between personality characteristic of learner to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; (4) there was significant contribution between teacher performance seen from learner perception to the implementation of scientific approach and learning quality; and (5) there was significant contribution between the implementation of scientific approach to the learning quality
