One of the aspects showing students' mastery of language context can be seen in the implementation language politeness. Language politeness      in the implementation of class discussion has its own peculiarities as represented differently by each student. Thus this study will describe (a) the fulfillment and (b) the deviation of language politeness  of Junior High School Students of 17 Malang.

This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative approach by employing the theory of pragmatics. The data were obtained naturally from the  event of  classroom discussion of Junior High School Students of 17 Malang. This study has two types of data namely the data which were in the form of students' verbal utterances  and the data from field notes. Students' utterances were obtained from handycam recorder, while the data of field note were taken through observation. The data source is the eight grade Junior High School Students of 17 Malang   in the academic year of 2014/2015 with the total number of 95 students. The data analysis technique used in this research is the analysis techniques of interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman   which includes four steps, namely (a) data collection, (b) data reduction, (c) data  display, and (d) conclusion drawing and verivication. The data were analyzed by using Leech' Pragmatics  theory consisting of (a)   tact maxim, (b) generosity maxim, (c) approbation maxim,  (d) modesty maxim,  (e) agreement maxim, and (f) sympathy.

Next, the application of  generosity maxim can be seen in (1) the use of the word "please" and (2) the use of words "thank you. In the case approbation  maxim, it can be seen in the form of  giving compliments about (1) the presentation of papers, (2) the questions raised during the discussion, and (3) the compliments addressed to parties involved in the   implementation of discussion  (moderator, speaker, and the audiences). In the case of modesty maxims it can be seen in the form of  (1) the absence of   participants  who elevate themselves   and (2) good prejudice addressed to the audiences. The application of  agreement maxim can be seen in the form of  (1) the provision of support on the correct opinion, and (2) the acceptance of other people's opinions. In terms of tact maxim it can been that (1) there is a coercion in the process of discussion (2) there is a direct refusal performed  and (3) there is an interruption happening while someone is speaking without saying sorry. In the case of generosity maxim, it can be seen when giving direct instruction to the presenters. In the case of approbation maxim, it can be seen from the way of giving direct criticism concerning  the implementation of discussion. In the case of modesty maxim, it can be seen when (1) there are still participants who try to elevate themselves and underestimate other audiences and (2) there are still participants who do not give support to the right opinion. Last, in terms of sympathy maxim it can be seen when there still participants who do not give sympathy to others.

Based on the research finding, there are some suggestions for those related to this research. First, it is suggested that the school principal emphasizes the implementation of language politeness when doing a supervision so that  language politeness becomes a culture in the interaction of teaching and learning process. Second, for teachers especially teachers of bahasa Indonesia, this study can be used a motivation to implement the politeness strategies at school by giving a role model. Next, for students, this research can be used as a reference on how to speak politely particularly when they are doing a classroom discussion so they will know the way how to present opinions, reject opinion, and ask questions. Last, for further researcher, this research can be used as a reference when conducting the same research on language politeness by using different context, method, and theory. Thus, it will enrich the study of Pragmatics particularly on language politeness.
