Propolis merupakan komponen sarang lebah dan mempunyai banyak manfaat untuk pengobatan. Kandungan bahan kimia serta komposisinya yang kompleks, membuat propolis mempunyai khasiat yang bermacam-macam, di antaranya sebagai antikanker/ antitumor, antivirus antifungi, antibiotika dan Immunmodulator. Ginjal sebagai organ utama yang sering mengalami gangguan akibat dari efek toksik suatu senyawa, karena ginjal memiliki aliran volume darah yang tinggi dan mengkosentrasi zat-zat toksik pada filtrat glomerulus dan membawanya melalui sel tubulus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak propolis terhadap nekrosis sel epitel tubulus proksimal mencit (Mus musculus) jantan galur balb/ C.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental Rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan. 24 mencit jantan galur Babl/ C umur 8 minggu, diberi ekstrak propolis melalui sonde lambung dengan dosis 10mg/ kg berat badan, 20mg/ kg berat badan, 30mg/ kg berat badan, 40mg/ kg berat badan dan 50mg/ kg berat badan dan P0 (kontrol) diberi aquades. Setelah 18 hari, mencit di dislokasi dan organ ginjal dibuat preparat histologi dengan pewarnaan Hematoksilin-Eosin (HE). Tiap preparat diamati 2 irisan dari 4 irisan melintang ginjal. Masing-masing irisan mengamati 3 bidang pandang dan setiap bidang pandang diamati 10 tubulus dan  menghitung inti sel yang mengalami piknotik, karyoreksis dan karyolisis. Analisis data menggunakan Analisis Varian Tunggal pada taraf kepercayaan 95% dilanjutkan uji Duncan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak propolis berpengaruh terhadap nekrosis tubulus proksimal. Kandungan tanin dan alkaloid pada propolis diduga berpotensi menyebabkan kerusakan membran sel sehingga transpor ion terganggu, mengakibatkan pemasukan ion Ca tidak terkendali dan menyebabkan kematian sel. Dosis 10mg/ kg bb mulai memberikan pengaruh terhadap nekrosis tubulus proksimal mencit.

Propolis is a component of honeycomb and has many benefits for treatment. The content of the chemical and its composition are complex, making propolis have various properties, including anticancer / antitumor, anti-fungal antiviral, antibiotics and immunodulator. The kidneys as the main organs that often experience interference due to the toxic effects of a compound, because the kidneys have a high blood volume flow and concentrate toxic substances on the glomerular filtrate and carry it through tubular cells.Purpose of this research is to determine the effect of administration of propolis extract on necrosis of proximal tubular epithelial cells of male mice (Mus musculus) Balb/C strain.

This research is an experimental study of randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments. 24 male mice Babl / c strain aged 8 weeks were given propolis extract through gastric sonde at a dose of 10mg / kg bb, 20mg / kg bb, 30mg / kg bb, 40mg / kg bb and 50mg / kg bb and P0 given distilled water. After 18 days, mice in the dislocation and kidney organs made histological preparations with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. Each preparation was observed in 2 slices of 4 transverse slices of the kidney. Each slice observes 3 fields of view and each field of view is observed in 10 tubules and calculates the nucleus of cells that experience picnotics, karyorexis and karyolysis. Analyze of the data using a One-Way ANOVA on the 95%  level, followed by Duncan test.

The results show that propolis extract had an effect on proximal tubular necrosis. The content of tannins and alkaloids in propolis is thought to have the potential to cause cell membrane damage so that ion transport is disrupted, resulting in uncontrolled inclusion of Ca ions and causing cell death. Doses of 10mg / kg bb began to influence the proximal tubular necrosis of mice.
