Tanah di daerah Sukodadi, Kabupaten Lamongan memiliki kembang susut yang tinggi, akibatnya jalan sering mengalami kerusakan. Kerusakan jalan terjadi akibat faktor tingginya beban lalu lintas kendaraan yang melewati ruas jalan tersebut mengingat fungsi jalan sebagai sarana lalu lintas sehingga perbaikan subgrade diperlukan. Dari penelitian pendahuluan, tanah daerah Sukodadi memiliki IP 33,58% dengan klasifikasi tanah memiliki tingkat pengembangan tinggi. Untuk itu diperlukan stabilisasi untuk memperbaiki sifat-sifat teknis tanah tersebut. Pada penelitian ini stabilisasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan tambahan garam dengan berbagai presentase.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik tanah lempung Desa Sukodadi, Kabupaten Lamongan setelah distabilisasi dengan garam (NaCl) dengancampuran 0%, 15%, 30%,45%, dan 60% (2) Untuk mengetahui nilai CBR (California Bearing Ratio) tanah lempung Desa Sukodadi, Kabupaten Lamongan setelah distabilisasi dengan garam (NaCl) 0%, 15%, 30%,45%, dan 60%.

Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian diskriptif eksperimental, data hasil penelitian disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Variasi kadar garam dalam penelitian ini ada 5 yaitu 0%, 15%, 30%,45%, dan 60%. Total keseluruhan benda uji sebanyak 45 buah dengan rincian 15 benda uji batas cair (LL), 15 benda uji batas plastis (PL) dan 15 benda uji CBR (California Bearing Ratio).

Hasil uji batas konsistensi yaitu uji batas cair (LL) dan uji batas plastis (PL) didapatkan kadar 0% nilai LL= 83% dan PL= 48,42% ; kadar 15% nilai LL= 55% dan PL= 33,62% ; kadar 30% nilai LL= 44,3% dan PL= 30,32% ; kadar 45% nilai LL= 39,8% dan PL= 27,42% ; kadar 60% nilai LL= 39% dan PL=27,25%. Setelah dilakukan uji CBR penetrasi 0,1 inci (2,54 mm) didapatkan kadar 0% = 0,59%, 15% = 1,16%, 30% = 2,15%, 45% = 4,79% dan 60% = 7,61%, sedangkan untuk CBR penetrasi 0,2 inci (5,08 mm) didapatkan kadar 0% = 0,51%, 15% = 1,03%, 30% = 2,11%, 45% = 4,77% dan 60% = 7,14%.

Dari beberapa presentase penambahan garam pada karakteristik fisik berupa IP tanah asli di dapatkan nilai sebesar 33,58%, setelah dilakukan penambahan garam 60% mengalami perubahan IP menjadi 8,75%. Sedangkan, nilai CBR tanah asli didapatkan nilai sebesar 0,59% untuk penetrasi 0,1 inci dan 0,51% untuk penetrasi 0,2 inci. Setelah  dilakukan penambahan garam 60% didapatkan nilai 7,61% untuk penetrasi 0,1 inci dan 7,14% untuk penetrasi 0,2 inci.

Soil in Sukodadi area, Lamongan regency has a high shrinkage, consequently the road is often damaged. Road damage due to the high load factor of transportation traffic passing through the road is considering the function of the road as a means of traffic so that subgrade repairs are needed. From preliminary research, Sukodadi soil has IP 33,58% with soil classification having high expansion level. For that required stabilization to improve technical soil properties.  In this study, stabilization using salt with various percentages addition of salt.

The purpose of this study were (1) To determine the physical characteristics of clays Sukodai village, Lamongan District, which is stabilized with salt (NaCl) with percentages 0%, 15%, 30%,45%, and 60%. (2) To determine the CBR (California Bearing Ratio) values of clays Sukodai village, Lamongan District, which is stabilized with salt (NaCl) with percentages 0%, 15%, 30%,45%, and 60%.

This research uses experimental research design, data are presented in graphical and tables form. Variations salt content in this study there were 5 of 0%, 15%, 30%, 45% and 60%. Total overall specimen as many as 45 pieces with details of 15 specimen liquid limit (LL), 15 specimen plastic limit (PL) and 15 specimen of California bearing ratio (CBR).

Limit assay results, namely consistency test liquid limit (LL) and test the plastic limit (PL) found levels of 0% value LL = 83% and PL = 48,42%; levels of 15% of the value LL = 55% and PL = 33,62%; levels of 30% of the value LL = 44,3% and PL = 30,32%; levels of 45% of the value LL = 39,8% and PL = 27,42%; levels of 60% of the value LL = 39% and PL = 27,25%, while for CBR penetration 0,2 inch (5,08 mm) getting levels 0% = 0,51%, 15% = 1,03%, 30% = 2,11%, 45% = 4,77%, and 60% = 7,14%.

Some percentage of salt additions on physical characteristics such as IP native land in get a value of 33,58%, after the addition of salt 60% change IP value becomes 8,75%. While the original CBR value in get a value 0,59% for penetration 0,1 inch and 0,51% for penetration 0,2 inch. After the addition of salt at 60% in get a value 7,61% for penetration 0,1 inch and 7,14% for penetration 0,2 inch.
