Candi borobudur merupakan karya seni leluhur masyarakat Indonesia, sedangkan painting merupakan karya seni yang dibuat untuk menggambarkan ide seseorang. Candi borobudur dan painting memiliki kesamaan yaitu sama-sama karya seni. Penulis memilih teknik painting agar warna yang di hasilkan sesuai dengan warna stupa asli. Teknik painting juga memudahkan penulis untuk menggradasi warna agar motif stupa seakan-akan motif stupa timbul. Warna yang dipakai adalah gradasi warna abu-abu muda sampai abu-abu gelap.

Berdasarkan hasil pembuatan busana ready to wear tersebut, diperoleh dua kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Pertama,  Proses painting motif stupa modifikasi terdapat kesalahan pada saat painting, cat tembus pada kain bagian dalam sebab kain utama dan kain bagian dalam dijahit terlebih dahulu dan dasar motif stupa tidak dilapisi oleh minyak cat. Kedua, printing motif stupa modifikasi terdapat kesalahan pada saat pengaturan ukuran diphotoshop, sehingga motif terlalu besar dan tidak sesuai dengan yang dirancang.

Adapun saran perbaikan dalam pengerjaan adalah: pertama, Proses painting motif stupa modifikasi untuk meminimalisir cat tidak tembus maka langkah awal kain utama dan kain bagian dalam tidak dijahit terlebih dahulu supaya memudahkan pada saat painting. Langkah kedua memberi minyak cat pada dasar motif stupa sebelum painting dan minyak cat juga berfungsi untuk mempercepat memblok warna agar lukisan bersih.

Ketiga, bagian tepi printing motif stupa dineci terlebih dahulu pada lembaran kain untuk memudahkan pada saat meneci. Kemudian motif yang sudah dineci di potong sesuai bentuk motif, fungsi meneci motif terlebih dahulu sebelum di potong supaya tepi motif tidak bertiras. Menata motif pada celana sesuai desain, kemudian motif stupa dijahit tangan dengan teknik sum.

The purpose of this final project is to make ready-to-wear cloting that used stupa motif as decoration with painting technique. The reason is because the stupa of Borobudur temple has different characteristics from other temples. Borobudur temple is surrounded by three circular rows of 72 hollow stupas in which there are Buddha statues. Furthermore, painting technique used to paint the stupa on the ready-to-wear cloting. Because technique painting can help to make smilar color with original stupa. On the other hand, it made easy to grade the color. The process to make ready-to-wear clothing, it has been conducted with 8 stages, namely : design, pattern, material design, cutting, sewing, painting, fitting, finishing. The first step in this stages is the creator determined theme and than it made design to consider about the material and decoration. The second stages is pattern, in this process the creator did body measure of model and made patter in accordance to the design. The third stages is to determine material, in this stage the creator calculated the material that will use to make ready-to-wear clothing. The fourth stages is cutting. After creator prepared all of things, creator cut the material in accordance with the design. The fifth stage is sewing in this process, the creator sewed all of the fabric that cut already and than painted it with stupa motif. The process of painting, creator prepared the motif pattern, copying, painting and finishing. The next stages is fitting and finishing. Based on the results above, it can be concloded that in the painting process of stupa motif faced some problems, included; first, the paint that used on the ready-to-wear emerged in the behind of the fabric and lining and second, the size of motif used drawing program but the size did not same with the design. To improve the art work to the next project, creator suggested that before the painting process, the clothes donot sew between main material and lining. Because it can make the paint emerge to the lining. On the other hand, it can paint in other fabric first and than cut dan put in the main material.
