Before sports activities can not be separated from the process of heating because the heating would without much hamper the process and even risky sports injury. Many sports use the hand grip strength, because the strength of the hand grip is a supporting factor in every sport. The use of massage as an additional heating can be applied but still questionable influence to force the hand, therefore, research on the benefits of massage as an extra warm up before physical activity needs to be done.

Giam and Teh (2005:10) explains that the effect of effleurage massage on power as an additional heating due to the influence of massage increases metabolism. Manipulation is done on the body parts to the heart, mechanically pushing venous blood flow to the heart. Massage impact of excitatory nerve impulses to speed up and improve blood circulation to the nervous system. Massage influences heat generation due to mechanical manipulation of the body massage and pressure on blood and lymph vessels can cause blood and lymph flow is driven toward the heart.

This study aimed to determine the effect of effleurage manipulation as an additional heating in the forearm, hand and fingers on the hand grip strength test results on the 30 student participants in extracurricular badminton SMK Plus Al-Mujahidi Gumukmas Jember District. Quasi-experimental research designs are patterned "One Group Pre Test Post Test Design". Pre test begins with a warm up followed by stretching kalestenik, after which subjects perform hand grip strength test using a handgrip dynamometer experiment 3 times. While the post test begins with a warm up followed by stretching kalestenik after it was given an additional gift to the manipulation of effleurage massage for 5 minutes, then do the test subjects with the hand grip strength using a handgrip dynamometer experiment 3 times.

Results of this study showed that administration of effleurage manipulation as an additional heating effect was not significant (ρ = 0.186> α = 0.05) with ρ α = 0.16 at significance level of 0.05 against the hand grip strength test results of 30 students in extracurricular participants badminton SMK Plus Al-Mujahidi Gumukmas Jember District. Results of this study that the administration of manipulation menjukkan effleurage as additional heating is not necessary due to the counter-productive. This happens because the testi never get that adaptation to manipulation massage effleurage experienced counter-productive.
