Pemahaman konsep geografi perlu ditingkatkan dalam pembelajaran di Sekolah Menegah Atas (SMA). Meningkatkan pemahaman konsep geografi, membutuhkan suatu model pembelajaran yang tepat. Two Stay Two Stray dan Student Team Achievement Divisions adalah model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep geografi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan penerapan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray dan Student Team Achievement Divisions terhadap pemahaman konsep geografi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 01 Gondanglegi, dan untuk mengetahui model mana yang lebih baik antara model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray dan Student Team Achievement Divisions.

Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian two group pretests postest design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X-IPS3 (eksperimen 1) mendapat perlakuan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray, dan kelas X-IPS4 (eksperimen 2) mendapat perlakuan model pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Divisions. Instrument penelitian ini berupa soal essai tes pemahaman konsep geografi, yang dikumpulkan sebelum perlakuan dan setelah perlakuan model pembelajaran. Instrument penelitian ini diuji coba menggunakan validitas dan realibilitas. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah uji-t yang dapat diselesaikan dengan bantuan SPSS 16,00 for windows.

Hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa pada siswa kelas eksperimen 1 rata-rata pemahaman konsep geografi 15,57, sedangkan pada siswa kelas eksperimen 2 rata-rata pemahaman konsep geografi 10,59. Hasil analisis dengan menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,016. Jadi nilai signifikansi 0,016 < 0,05 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan pemahaman konsep geografi siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray dan Student Team Achievement Divisions pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Gondanglegi, dan  model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Divisions.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan agar model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray dan Student Team Achievement Divisions dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep geografi siswa pada materi atmosfer. Bagi guru diharapkan diterapkan dikelas terutama pada materi pembelajaran yang menuntut siswa untuk berdiskusi. Bagi pihak sekolah diharapkan dapat memberikan fasilitas berupa sumber belajar. sedangkan untuk peneliti lanjut disarankan agar menambah varibel terikat seperti keaktifan dan motivasi belajar siswa.

The understanding of geographic concept needs to be improved towards the learning in Senior High School (SMA) level. In order to improve the understanding of geographic concept, it needs an appropriate learning model. Two Stay Two Stray and Student Team Achievement Divisions is learning model that can improve the understanding of geographic concept. This research aims to know the difference of implementation between Two Stay Two Stray and Student Team Achievement Divisions learning model to the understanding of geographic concept for students in the 10th Grade SMA Negeri (Public Senior High School) 01 Gondanglegi and to know which model is better, Two Stay Two Stray or Student Team Achievement Divisions learning model.

This research designed by using quasi experimental research with two group pretest posttest research design. Subject in this research was 10th Grade of Social Science-3 (experiment 1) that treated by Two Stay Two Stray learning model and 10th Grade of Social Science-4 (experiment 2) that treated by Student Team Achievement Divisions learning model. The research instrument was essay questions to the understanding of geographic concept which collected before the treatment given and after given by treatment of learning model. This research instrument tested by using validity and reliability test. Analysis technique used in this research was t-test with the assistance of SPSS 16.00 for Windows.

The result of data analysis found that students in the experimental class 1 had average understanding of geographic concept for 15.57, while students in the experimental class 2 had average understanding of geographic concept for 10.59. Analysis result by using t-test showed significance value of 0.016. Thus, significance value was 0.016 < 0.05, then H0 unconfirmed and H1 confirmed. The result of data analysis showed that there was difference of understanding of geographic concept to the students taught by using Two Stay Two Stray and Student Team Achievement Divisions learning model in the 10th Grade SMA Negeri 1 Gondanglegi and Two Stay Two Stray learning model was better than Student Team Achievement Divisions learning model.

Based on the research result, it is suggested to implement Two Stay Two Stray and Student Team Achievement Divisions learning model in order to improve the understanding of geographic concept for students towards atmosphere material. For teachers should implement those learning models in the class, especially to the learning materials demand students to conduct discussion. For the school should provide facility of learning sources, while for the next researchers suggested to add dependent variables such as student activeness and learning motivation.
