Early childhood is the golden development age. At this age children often have a high curiosity that deserves attention. On that basis, the researcher makes the problem formulation: (1) how is the description of children curiosity. That is, how the level of curiosity, the curiosity direction and also about the level of tolerance of curiosity, or any other description, (2) How the description of mother communication to responding the children curiosity. Do mothers communicate authoritarian, democratic, or permissive, (3) how the connectivity between the curiosity of children and mothers of communication. Is a type of communication used by mothers may also alter the dimensions of child behavior.

The study was conducted in a village in the middle of the city of Malang. The focus of research is the interaction between mothers and children aged 4-6 years, the merchant families. Here is used a qualitative approach, the kind of symbolic interactionism. The process of taking the sample using a snowball sampling, data collection is done by participatory observation, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was performed with the description, and assertion mengkatagorisasi connection.

The results can be obtained in this study were: (1) In general, children have a high level of curiosity to be met, tend to have low frustration tolerance, and lead to the development of cognitive, affective, and conative, (2) In response to a child's curiosity , she tends to use one of three types of communication that is authoritarian, democratic, and permissive. But the trend fluctuated, Mother did not always communicate with one type only. For example, mothers tend to be democratic was also never be authoritarian when children show an attitude of obedience, as well as on other types, (3) Communications mothers getting closer to democratic type, resulting in high frustration tolerance and a high balance of the development aspects of cognitive, affective and conative child . Conversely the lower away from the type of democratic aspect of balanced development of cognitive, affective, conative and frustration tolerance child.

Based on the results of research conducted, it is advisable for parents to be able to change the type of communication towards the type of democratic communication. For counselors for counselors, especially in kindergarten and elementary school are expected to provide systems support in the form of programs or activities that can assist parents in responding to the curiosity of children.
